I run my hands along the smooth curves of the bot, occasionally stopping and tinkering with a small gear, servo, or circuit board.
"Ah, this is truly a thing of beauty. Look how the engineer seamlessly connected the arm here." I say as I point and trace out the connection points. I'm speaking mostly to myself, but am clearly audible if Abel or Beevil pay even slight attention to what I'm doing. "Ah! And here, these wires running along the spine and towards the head must be mimicking the central nervous system... Fascinating, truly fascinating the detail that went into this creation." I sit back on my haunches, staring at the opened up body in thought. "I best not touch that power unit, at least not until I'm back in the lab with proper tools." I sigh forlornly, dearly wishing I had the equipment to do a full analysis of the bot. Taking out my dataslab I start rapidly filling out my notes with observations and diagrams of what I can see and have learned from this experiment. Afterwards I take out my Survey Scanner, using it to analyze the material composition of the bots body and inner workings, as well as to take detailed video recordings of the bot, saving the results in my dataslab with the rest of my notes. Rubbing my hands together in excitement, I speak to the broken bot, "I'll have to get my hands on a still functioning sample, imagine what I could learn from that!"
Once finished, I carefully put the bot back together as I found it and pack it away on the grav buggy. "We best make sure we are rested up for tomorrow, who knows how many chances we'll get to rest with hostile bots roaming these parts." So saying, I get into the buggy, claiming the passenger seat and recline it back to get some sleep.
